We close 2014 with excellent news from St Thomas, where Leboy has finished the third and last term of Standard 6 with As in Mathematics, English, Science, and History, and Bs in Kiswahili, Geography, and Civics. Congratulations Leboy!
New challenges ahead for Leboy in 2015. First, he needs to complete Standard 7, thereby finishing the last year of his primary education. He will also be expected to perform well in the national examinations. Following that, a conversation about his educational future will be in order. As always, any input is appreciated on this matter. Happy new year everyone!

Standard 6 Term 2
It's incredible to think that more than six years have passed since Leboy started his schooling adventure. It's even more amazing to realize that after the briefest of adaptation periods he has been consistently performing at the top. The 2nd term report for Standard 6 is in, and it should be no surprise that he achieve almost a 100% A on his scoresheet - Kiswahili was the only B.
More encouraging still is the fact that his teachers appreciate his potential, which he has yet to reach, and are trying to push him to achieve excellence. Keep at it, Leboy. Only four more terms!

A good way to start Standard 6
Leboy's first term report for Standard 6 is in. Ranking 4th out of 29, he's done very well again, save perhaps for his kiswahili score. Keep fighting, Leboy!

Leboy Edward Laizer
"Leboy had his communion and we were all very happy to see him having his first communion. His baptismal name is Edward Laizer. We are all proud when he attends church, we believe it will shape his morals."--Laizer, Leboy's father

Standard 5 Term 3
As the year draws to an end we see another fantastic performance by Leboy.
As we can see, Leboy has finished the last term of standard 5 (the equivalent of the fifth grade) in third position and with very positive comments from his teacher and headmaster. As usual, he does very well in English and maths, even though they do not seem to be his strongest subjects, but keeps dropping points in French. As a reminder, French is actually the fourth language for many students at St Thomas, after English, Swahili, and their mother tongue (in Leboy's case, Ma).
I am hoping to be able to reward Leboy's efforts with a trip to an English speaking country sometime in 2014. If anyone reading this knows of any camps that Leboy might like (hint: soccer!) or knows of any scholarships that we might apply for, please contact me!
Happy holidays to everyone, and see you in 2014!

Good news from Moshono. Leboy's midterm report is in and it looks like he's going to finish the school year strong. Ranking third, he's averaging good grades. Let's hope he can push till the end of the year and finish on top!
